EBC also attracts senior consultants from Mercer and Buck

Lorica Employee Benefits has appointed Jon Austin, formerly of Xafinity Consulting, as head of corporate benefits.

Austin's (pictured) appointment is one of three major ones announced today by Lorica and follows news that the organisation's former head of consulting, David Dolding, has moved to Portus Consulting in another senior role.

Austin joins Lorica after previously holding management roles at both Buck Consultants and Bupa.

In addition to his appointment, Charles Alberts joins as a senior employee benefits consultant from Mercer, where he spent the last five and a half years as a senior associate. Will McNaughton, meanwhile, also joins Lorica as a senior employee benefit consultant, leaving Buck Consultants where he was manager of the Reading office's group risk team.

Lorica chief executive David Battle said the new appointments come on the back of gains achieved in the previous 12 months and with organic growth in turnover over two years now topping 43%.

Battle said: “Internally, our processes have changed to strengthen our business and that’s attracting new customers and respected team members. I understand new employees see us as dynamic and exciting – and willing to adapt to the ever-changing needs of our customers and industry. Employees know that they are empowered to take action here; their remit is to help customers and that is a win for all.”

The organisation restructured “every part” of its business last year, Battle said, into the following areas: corporate pensions (workplace savings and actuarial); flexible benefits; benefit and reward consulting; wealth management; employee financial education; and health, risk & wellbeing.
