Latest appointment as intermediary ramps up capital ambitions

Jelf Employee Benefits has appointed Debbie Cohen as healthcare consultant to grow the company’s SME private medical insurance (PMI) offering in London.

Reporting to Chris Cannon, business development manager, Cohen will be based at the company’s new Central-London office.

Formerly a healthcare consultant at John Stephen Associates IFA Ltd, she has moved with her current client portfolio and brings with her experience and expertise in SME PMI, travel and dental insurance.

Health Insurance recently reported that Jelf is ramping up its activities in the capital. Along with the new office opening, it has recruited Doug Rice, formerly of Cigna HealthCare, as director of healthcare, while Ronjit Bose – who has held roles at Standard Life Healthcare, PruHealth and Bupa International – joins as commercial director.

Initially a team of six will work from the London office covering both healthcare and risk.
