Simplyhealth has completed its acquisition of Groupama’s UK private medical insurance business, Groupama Healthcare, after receiving approval from the High Court last week.
Santé by Groupama Healthcare will now be named Santé by Simplyhealth and remains available for quotations and renewals.
Simplyhealth says it hopes to bring out a new PMI product this autumn.
Jamie Wilson, sales and marketing director at Simplyhealth, said the purchase makes Simplyhealth the UK’s fifth largest PMI provider.
He said: “Groupama Healthcare had built a strong reputation for customer service and this is something we are firmly committed to continuing. We will ensure that all policyholders, intermediaries and corporate clients receive the same personal service they have always had.”
Wilson added that Simplyhealth has transferred EasyAdmin to its website to make it easier for intermediaries to amend details of policies that were formerly with Groupama Healthcare, while it plans to launch similar online capability for all its policies soon.
The acquisition was first announced in August 2011.
