AXA PPP healthcare bids for online broker

Another intermediary acquisition

Plans to strengthen presence online

AXA PPP healthcare has entered into an agreement to buy the broker Health-on-Line.

A spokesman said that the deal, which is still subject to the approval of the Financial Services Authority, would strengthen the insurer's presence in the online health arena, where the broker "already enjoys considerable success".

In recent years AXA PPP healthcare has been at the forefront of intermediary acquisitions through its subsidiaries Venture Preference and Thinc Group, buying firms including The Health Insurance Group (THIG), Essential Healthcare and PIFC Consulting.
