Tim Breedon, group chief executive of Legal & General, is to retire from the insurer at the end of next year.
Breedon, who was appointed to the position in 2006, has been with the organisation for 25 years.
Previous roles there include group director (Investments) and deputy group chief executive.
Legal & General said the the board will commence a process to appoint Breedon’s successor in due course.
Since taking up the chief executive role, Breedon was appointed chairman of the Association of British Insurers.
