L&G joins International Stress Management Association

Provider the latest to join UK branch

Legal & General announced today that it has joined ISMAuk, the International Stress Management Association.

ISMA was founded in 1974 as the American Association for the Advancement of Tension Control before being renamed as the International Stress and Tension Control Society in 1981 due to international interest. In 1984, the UK and French branches were formed and the organisation was renamed International Stress Management Association in 1989.

Membership is offered to individuals and companies who provide stress management services and ISMAuk members include many occupational health and absence management providers, including Randox Health Checks and WorkPoint.

Diane Buckley (pictured), managing director of Legal & General Group Protection, said L&G was “delighted” to join ISMAuk.

She added: “Stress is one of the leading causes of long-term absence which is why we’re interested in causes and prevention so that we can help employers provide good quality support in their workplace.”
