Westfield adds Best Doctors to cash plans

Also offering retail discount scheme

Westfield Health has added expert second medical opinion service Best Doctors to its range of health cash plans at no extra cost.

The provider is also introducing a new retail discount scheme, Westfield Rewards, to its plans.

Best Doctors gives policyholders and their families the chance to request a second medical opinion from over 50,000 world-leading consultants. The specialist will review the patient’s case, confirm the diagnosis and recommend the most effective treatment.

Westfield is the latest health and protection provider to tie up with Best Doctors, which also provides services to customers of fellow cash plan provider Medicash and those of group risk provider Canada Life.

Meanwhile Westfield Rewards provides access to discounts, special offers and cashback at more than 200 high street and online retailers.

Jill Davies (pictured), chief executive of Westfield Health, said the added benefits are a way of “giving something back” to the provider’s customers and represent “real added value” for policyholders.

She said: “For example, when you or a loved one are diagnosed with a serious or worrying medical condition, it’s natural to want to seek another opinion. Best Doctors will enable our policyholders to request an alternative assessment of their diagnosis from a world leading medical specialist for free, putting their mind at ease and helping them to identify the best possible treatment for their condition.

“And at a time when many of us are feeling the strain financially, Westfield Rewards offers a wide range of welcome discounts, which allow our policyholders to save money and claim cashback on their everyday shopping.”

In addition, Westfield Health is adding a new webcam consultation service to its existing GP telephone consultation service DoctorLine.

The service will allow policyholders to have an online face-to-face consultation with a GP between the hours of 8.30am and 6.30pm, Monday to Friday.
