Medicash Wellbeing follows launch of Paycare Go
Another provider has launched a cash plan – a product typically designed for companies – aimed specifically at consumers.
Medicash’s "Wellbeing" product provides healthcare benefits for individuals and their families from £6.50 per month and includes a 100% refund on costs incurred for optical, dental, consultation and diagnostic tests, within an annual limit.
Cash plans are typically offered to staff by companies on a voluntary or company-paid basis, but the launch of Medicash Wellbeing comes hot on the heels of the launch of “Go”, a product aimed at consumers aged 18-24, from rival provider Paycare.
As well as offering cover for one adult, with the option to add up to four children up to the age of 19 to their personal policy, Medicash Wellbeing also offers an option for dual cover – joint cover with a partner, including same sex partners, and up to four dependent children – from £13 per month.
The new plan also includes full access to the Best Doctors InterConsultation service, giving members the chance to request a second medical opinion from more than 50,000 world-leading consultants, 24-hour access to stress and support helplines providing medical counselling and other advisory services, and personal accident cover of up to £36,000.
Medicash Wellbeing also provides cover for the costs associated with everyday healthcare needs, such as eye tests and further optical care, NHS and private dental treatments, complementary therapies including physiotherapy and chiropractic treatment, and specialist consultations.
The plan also covers a range of prescribed alternative therapies including physiotherapy, reflexology, allergy testing, acupuncture, reiki, homeopathy and hypnotherapy.
