Benenden and Engage launch cash plan for 66+ market

Single plans and joint plans are available with three levels of cover

A subsidiary of Benenden Healthcare Society, the York-based mutual, has developed a cash plan product designed for individuals aged 66 and over in partnership with Engage Mutual Assurance.

Benenden’s Friendly Healthcare Organisation Limited (FHOL)’s ‘Benenden Health Cash Plan 66+’ product offers cash back on a range of everyday healthcare costs including dental treatments, optical expenses and complementary therapies. In addition, it provides cash back on hearing aids. Upper plan levels also provide cash back for outpatient and inpatient visits.

Single plans and joint plans are available with three levels of cover from which to select. For the joint plans, both applicants must be aged 66 or over. There is no upper age limit on applying for the plans and monthly premiums start at £10 per month.

Engage Mutual also provides two of FHOL’s other products for Benenden Healthcare members: the ‘Benenden Health Cash Plan’ (for members aged 65 and under) and the recently-launched ‘Benenden Over 50s Life Cover’.

Benenden Healthcare Society’s membership of more than 900,000 is made up largely of public sector workers and their families, as well as employees and members of organisations “whose aims and objectives are compatible with those of the society”, including charities, co-operatives, credit unions and other mutual organisations.
